When Jinho Song joined Senator more than a decade ago, he brought with him a background rooted in mechanical engineering and industrial design, along with an international perspective shaped by studying and working across cultures.
That combination became an important foundation in the early thinking behind Ousby - a chair designed not for one market, but for workplaces around the world.
From the outset, Ousby was developed with a strong emphasis on visual identity and structural clarity. Senator set out to create a chair that felt confident and contemporary, with a distinctive profile that expressed how it works through its form.
Rather than relying on decorative elements, the structure itself became the design language - giving Ousby a presence that feels considered, balanced, and enduring across different interiors and regions.
Performance was refined through careful engineering and iterative development.
Adjustable lumbar support allows users to personalise comfort, while the flexible mesh adapts naturally to movement throughout the day. A defining V-shaped support bar brings strength and stability to the back frame, concentrating force at its centre and providing controlled resistance when reclining.
From first sketches to final prototypes, Ousby evolved through collaboration, testing, and attention to detail - resulting in a task chair that combines comfort, innovation, and lasting design integrity.
